As a VIP visitor do you ever feel like royalty with everything pristine? (walkways freshly swept & painted, everything in its place, PPE worn correctly, etc).

Over the years, the well known ‘black bag exercises’ have been happening prior to a VIP visit. It’s easy to say, “I have an open-door policy.” The real challenge is making people feel safe enough to walk through it — especially when what they have to say might be uncomfortable. CALIS coaches help leaders create a psychologically safe environment where honesty feels safe, not risky. We teach small, practical habits that build trust — listening without judgment, asking curious questions, and thanking people for their honesty. When leaders do this consistently, people stop telling them what they think they want to hear and start sharing what they really need to know. Because an open door only works if people believe it’s safe to step inside.
