About CALIS Performance:

Amplifying trust into a company asset.

Born from the field, not a lab.

CALIS was formed by senior partners who first worked together in 2022, later reuniting on high-hazard operations in South Africa. What connected them wasn’t a slogan; it was a shared instinct to leave places steadier than we found them—and to do it in ways crews respect and leaders can stand behind.

From ideas to a way of working.
By late 2024, the partnership clicked into gear. We compared notes from rigs, plants, and control rooms and built a simple truth into our methodology: trust isn’t a workshop—it’s a way of working.

The CALIS 4E Trust Model

We use a repeatable frame that adapts to the realities of each client:

  • Engage — see the work as it is, agree what “good” looks like.
  • Enable — make the right way the easy way.
  • Empower — let crews own it and leaders coach it.
  • Endure — lock in what holds under pressure.

It’s a loop, not a ladder. We enter where the context demands and cycle as conditions change.

What We Stand For

Trust at the centre.
Our values—Integrity, Collaboration, Care, Adaptability are filters for decisions: Will this hold up on shift? Does it travel across sites? Does it preserve dignity? If not, we don’t ship it.

What We Saw in High-Hazard Work

Across front lines and boardrooms, people spoke about the same thing in different words. Trust felt fragile in the moments between procedures—handovers, meetings, supervision, onboarding. Not because talent, kit, or rules were lacking, but because everyday conduct drifted under pressure.

We built CALIS to amplify trust in those moments. When organisations put real effort into how people actually work together—inside existing procedures—performance steadies and safety improves over time.

A Note to Leaders

High-hazard industries are full of exceptional technical leaders. Many were promoted for skill and experience, then asked to create high-trust environments with little support. CALiS exists to make that demand practical: one language from board to field, one way of working that sticks.

Places We’ve Worked

Our Mission

Our mission at CALiS Performance is to facilitate transformational changes within organizations in high-hazard industries by enhancing their leadership capabilities and improving organizational culture. Through tailored coaching, interactive learning labs, and data-driven insights, we strive to empower leaders and foster an environment of safety, engagement, and reliable performance improvement.

OUR APPROACH

CALIS Amplifies Performance by Making Operational Trust Tangible Visible Dependable Repeatable Replicable Measurable Reliable

CALIS works alongside leaders and crews to embed Operational Trust Amplification™ directly into daily routines. Every step is grounded in field reality, scaled through enterprise systems, and measured by durability.

Amplifying Operational Discipline

Resilience is often miscast as fragile — dependent on vigilance, motivation, or culture. CALIS reframes it as a design discipline, engineered into operations. By shifting the lens from hope to systematic, provable reliability, CALIS makes resilience visible, repeatable, and defensible.

Maximising Operational Clarity

High-hazard industries often operate in “two worlds, one business”: boardroom intent vs. frontline execution. CALIS bridges this gap by making directives clear and transferable, so leadership’s strategy lands intact in the field — while frontline realities are surfaced visibly back to the board.

Translating Belief Into Action

Values on posters alone don’t prevent incidents. We start with the foundation you’ve already built, focusing on the authentic values alive in your organization. CALIS helps translate these core beliefs into observable, repeatable routines, transforming a soft asset (values) into a hard control (behaviours). These actions can be evidenced and scaled, closing the credibility gap between leadership’s words and the workforce’s lived reality.

I feel fortunate to have shared the whole journey with Colin. The time spent together was insightful and a true pleasure, mate. The project delivery speaks very highly of his guidance and support.
